This past Saturday we went to the Brazoria County Fair Association's Annual Fair Parade, a Taylor family tradition ever since Celeste was born. We woke her up early in the morning, grabbed donuts and kolaches (ugh, I know, horrible!!), and made the long drive down to Angleton to get our spots near the beginning. Celeste was so excited!!
She was especially thrilled when she found out her cousins were coming to join her. She knows how to say Katelyn's name the right way, but refuses to do so. So we kept hearing, "Guys, when is Klay-klyn going to be here? Is she close yet?" She was so full of excitement, and when all the girls arrived the parade had just begun. The firetrucks were coming by, blaring their syrens (and scaring me to death), and every float that was giving out candy always made their way to Chelsey (who shared her treasures with the others very sweetly). The girls were loaded with candy and had a blast watching all of the floats go by. Us parents, however, were getting quite warm as the morning wore on (but hey, I'm not complaining, it was a lot of fun and I got to take pics).
Their favorite part of the parade, hands down, were the horses. There was one part that had "dancing horses," and they loved those. Not as neat as the ones in the Friendswood July 4th parade, but still pretty cool! It seemed there were more horses this year than in years past.
After the parade, we took the girls to the BCFA fair and wore them out some more. We like to try to get pictures of all the girls together when we can (which is difficult with so many; I'm sure you can imagine).
Celeste really enjoyed "milking the cow" in this little area that they had set up for the kids. She did a great job!
Then she was able to actually pet a real cow that I think was getting ready for judging, and she loved that! Can you see the amazed look on her face?
Afterwards, I had to send Luwannah a photo of this delicious homemade fudge that we bought at the fair. She was at the gym and doing cardio in preparation for her show this coming Saturday (2010 NPC Texas State & IFBB Houston Pro in Stafford). It was delicious!!
